Cloverly is thrilled to announce the appointment of Douglas Sabo as its new Advisor. Sabo, previously the Chief Sustainability Officer at Visa, is a recognized leader in corporate and environmental responsibility. He was named a Top 100 Chief Sustainability Officer by Sustainability Magazine and one of the 50 Most Influential in ESG by Constellation Research. This marks his first official engagement post-Visa, signifying a strong endorsement of Cloverly’s mission and strategic direction.
For Cloverly, Doug will play an important role in supporting the company’s growth through his deep industry expertise. From informing the product roadmap to providing insight on the industry’s most complex issues, Doug will help contribute to both vision and execution at Cloverly — and provide value for the company and its customers.
“Doug’s support of Cloverly is not just a win for our team but a leap forward for corporate climate action,” said Jason Rubottom, CEO of Cloverly. “His track record and understanding of the environmental challenges and opportunities facing businesses today make him the perfect fit for this role. We can’t wait to see the value that Doug will provide to our customers, the broader industry, and most importantly, the planet.”
“While avoiding emissions is the first priority, high quality carbon credits are a critical part of the solution to address unavoidable emissions now, ultimately benefiting both people and nature”, said Sabo. “As a recent Chief Sustainability Officer, I understand the challenges and priorities of corporate sustainability teams around the voluntary carbon markets, including the need for trust, quality, and transparency. I’m excited to be working with the global team at Cloverly because of their mission-driven approach, focus on quality and trust, and emphasis on climate science.”
Sabo’s distinguished career includes fifteen years at Visa where he led the company’s global corporate sustainability and ESG initiatives, earning the company frequent recognition as a global leader. In addition to his work at Visa, he has focused on empowering sustainable living and commerce via groups like the Sustainable Brands Advisory Board, New York Stock Exchange Sustainability Advisory Council, Sustainable Finance Working Group of the Institute of International Finance, and the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Sustainable Tourism. Sabo is a frequent speaker on ESG topics and recognized leader on sustainable living.
